What this service is

Home Services Marketplace publishes home-improvement cost data and connects homeowners with independent contractors. We are a publisher and marketplace. We do not perform construction work, employ contractors, or act as an agent for either side.

About the cost ranges

Every figure on this site is a typical-cost range, not a quote. Ranges are built from published industry cost data adjusted by regional labor and material multipliers, and they are re-checked quarterly. Your actual price depends on your home, your material choices, the scope you agree, and the bids you receive.

We do not guarantee that any contractor will bid inside a published range, and a bid outside the range is not evidence of wrongdoing by anyone.

Quote requests

When you submit a quote request you confirm that the details are accurate, that you are the homeowner or authorized to act for them, and that by submitting you consent to contact from Home Services Marketplace and the matched companies named on screen above the button, by phone, text or email, including with automated technology. Consent is not a condition of purchase, and message and data rates may apply.

Submitting a request creates no obligation to hire anyone, and no obligation on any contractor to bid.

Contractor relationships

Contractors on this marketplace are independent businesses. We verify license and insurance status against the applicable state registry before a firm receives its first lead and re-check periodically, but verification is a point-in-time check, not a warranty of workmanship, and not a recommendation.

Any contract for work is between you and the contractor. Disputes about price, quality, timing or damage are between you and that firm. We will provide records we hold that are relevant to a dispute on request.

Acceptable use

• Do not submit requests for property you have no connection to, or use another person's contact details.
• Do not scrape, resell or republish our cost data or contractor listings.
• Do not attempt to circumvent rate limits, verification, or access other users' information.

Content and reviews

Reviews may be submitted only by homeowners who completed a project through this marketplace, and final cost is verified against the bid on file. We remove reviews that are off-topic, defamatory, or that disclose another person's private information. We do not remove a review because a contractor dislikes it.

Our cost guides, tables and methodology are our copyright. You may quote short extracts with attribution and a link.

Disclaimers and liability

The service is provided as is. We disclaim implied warranties to the extent the law allows. We are not liable for the acts or omissions of any contractor, for work performed or not performed, or for indirect, incidental or consequential losses. Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to the amount you paid us, which for homeowners is nothing.
